How to Install IPTV on Amazon Firestick (Step-by-Step, 2026)

The Amazon Firestick is the single most popular IPTV device in the world — it’s cheap, it plugs into any TV, and it runs every major IPTV player. Here’s exactly how to set it up, even if you’ve never sideloaded an app before.

What you’ll need

  • Any Fire TV Stick (Lite, HD, 4K, or 4K Max)
  • Your IPTV credentials: username, password, and server URL (your provider sends these when you subscribe — here’s how our activation works)
  • 10 minutes

Step 1 — Allow apps from unknown sources

IPTV players aren’t always on the Amazon Appstore, so we install them with the Downloader app:

  1. From the Firestick home screen, go to Settings → My Fire TV → Developer Options.
  2. Select Install unknown apps (on newer sticks: Apps from Unknown Sources).
  3. If you don’t see Developer Options, go to Settings → My Fire TV → About, click your Fire TV Stick name 7 times to unlock it.

Step 2 — Install Downloader

  1. Press the search icon on the home screen and type Downloader.
  2. Install the orange Downloader app (it’s free and on the official Appstore).
  3. Open it and allow the permissions it asks for.
  4. Back in Install unknown apps, toggle Downloader to ON.

Step 3 — Install IPTV Smarters Pro

  1. Open Downloader and click the URL field.
  2. Enter the short code or direct APK link your IPTV provider gives you (we send ours automatically on WhatsApp after activation).
  3. Click Go, wait for the download, then click Install.
  4. Open IPTV Smarters Pro.

Step 4 — Log in with your credentials

  1. Choose Login with Xtream Codes API (the standard method — see Xtream Codes vs M3U if you’re curious about the difference).
  2. Enter any name, then your username, password, and server URL exactly as received.
  3. Press Add User. The app downloads your channels, movies, and series — usually in under a minute.

That’s it. Open Live TV and start zapping.

Troubleshooting

The APK won’t download — double-check the URL, and make sure Downloader has the “unknown apps” permission from Step 1.

“Invalid credentials” — 99% of the time it’s a typo. Server URLs must include the http:// part and the port number. Copy-paste from your activation message if possible.

Channels load but freeze — usually a network issue, not the stick. Our buffering guide walks through every fix in order.

Which Firestick should you buy for IPTV?

Any current stick works, but if you’re buying new: the Fire TV Stick 4K is the sweet spot — faster processor, Wi-Fi 6, and 4K support for around €60. The Lite works fine for a bedroom TV in Full HD.
