How to Set Up IPTV on Samsung & LG Smart TVs (No Extra Box Needed)

Good news: if you own a Samsung or LG Smart TV from roughly 2016 onward, you don’t need a Firestick or any extra box — the TV itself runs IPTV beautifully. Here’s the clean way to do it.

How Smart TV IPTV apps work (read this first)

Unlike phone apps where you type a username and password, most Smart TV IPTV apps activate by MAC address: the app shows a unique code, you send that code to your provider, and they link your subscription to it. Next time the app opens, everything loads automatically. No typing with the remote — it’s the easiest activation there is.

Step 1 — Install the app

On Samsung (Tizen):

1. Press Home → navigate to Apps.
2. Search for IBO Player (or Smarters Player Lite).
3. Install and open it.

On LG (webOS):

1. Press Home → open the LG Content Store.
2. Search for IBO Player (or Smarters Player Lite).
3. Install and open it.

If an app isn’t available in your region’s store, try the alternative name above — availability varies by country.

Step 2 — Note the MAC address / Device ID

Open the app. On the first screen you’ll see something like:

MAC: a1:b2:c3:d4:e5:f6 Device Key: 123456

Take a photo or write it down exactly.

Step 3 — Send it to your provider

Send that MAC/key to your IPTV provider. With us it’s one WhatsApp message — we register it on the panel and reply when it’s linked, usually within minutes.

Step 4 — Restart the app

Close and reopen the app. Your channel list, movies, and series appear automatically. Done — total time under 10 minutes.

Samsung/LG tips from our support desk

• Wire it if you can. TVs often have weaker Wi-Fi antennas than sticks. An Ethernet cable prevents most evening buffering (more buffering fixes).
• A small activation fee is normal. Apps like IBO Player charge a one-time fee (a few euros) for lifetime TV activation — that goes to the app developer, not your IPTV provider.

Trouble?
